Abstract:
For the millimeter-wave systems with the hybrid precoding structure, a novel hybrid precoder design method based on the strongest path strategy is proposed, which contains 2 parts: the analog precoder design and the digital precoder design. The angles of arrival of the dominant paths of the channels were estimated by using the beam trainings. The analog precoder was designed to cover the strongest paths of the user channels based on the strongest path strategy. Based on the determined equivalent channel, the digital precoder was determined by establishing and solving the optimal mathematical model with the goal of maximizing the spectrum efficiency. The rationality and the availability of the proposed method were verified via the theoretical derivation and the numerical simulations. These results show that the proposed design has higher spectrum efficiency.
